- Conference Interpreting
As its name suggests, this kind of interpretation can be used during conferences, congresses, international summit meetings. Several modes of interpretation can be adopted in such contexts. The most significant ones are the simultaneous and the consecutive modes or chuchotage, also known as whispered interpreting.
- Simultaneous interpreting
In the simultaneous mode the interpretation of the speaker’s speech takes place simultaneously during the delivery of the speech itself. The interpreters (normally two per language) are sitting in a soundproof booth and can see the speaker clearly. The interpreter is provided with a head set with a microphone and listens to the message in the source language simultaneously translating it into the target language for the public.
- Consecutive interpreting
In the consecutive mode the interpretation of the speaker’s speech takes place in a consecutive way, either at the end of the whole speech or at the end of portions of the original speech. Normally the interpreter sits next to the speaker, listens to the speech and takes notes with a special note taking technique while the speech is being delivered. Once the speaker has finished his speech or part of it, the interpreter reproduces consecutively the source text in the target language as if it were reproduced in the source language and as if it were the original speech.
- Chuchotage or Whispered Interpreting
In this interpretation mode the interpreter sits next to the speaker and whispers the source text in the target language to the speaker. Whispered interpreting is often used in contexts in which the majority of the public speaks the same language whereas a minor number of people cannot speak or understand the source language.
- Liaison Interpreting
This interpretation mode takes place in the presence of both interested parties thus ensuring an informal communication for small groups speaking different languages. This mode is perfect for business negotiations, signatures of contracts, business meeting, business visits, linguistic assistance during fairs or similar events.
- Translation
Translation entails translating the meaning of a source text into a new text, which must correspond to the source text, into another language. The translation service provided is marked by high level characteristics: quality, accuracy and precision of the translated text. The terminology used in the target text must correspond to the terminology of the source text even though the languages are different. On time delivery is to be taken for granted.
- Language courses
A special attention is paid to the organization of language courses, to the drawing up of the teaching plan and to the teaching method. The aim is to stimulate course participants to learn quickly. Training and requalification courses in addition to Language courses for business, public and private bodies are provided.
